Handlung von Insects
Insects handelt von einem Wanderer, der mitten im Wald einschläft und davon träumt, Insekten zu beobachten. In den winzigen Lebewesen, erkennt er Parallelen zu den Menschen und so weist er jedem Insekt einen bestimmten Charakter zu. Vom eingebildeten Schmetterling über den unterwürfigen Mistkäfer bis hin zu den militanten Ameisen, steht jedes der Tierchen für eine bestimmte Art Mensch.

Hintergrund & Infos zu Insects
Insects basiert auf dem tschechischen Theaterstück Pictures from the Insects' Life von Karel und Josef Capek. Das Stück gilt als das bekannteste der beiden Brüder, da es zu seiner Zeit oft in politischen Diskussionen referenziert wurde. 1922, also kurz nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg, feierte es seine Premiere und zeichnete ein misanthropisches Bild der Nachkriegsgesellschaft.
