Description

Korea 1950. Nach Ausbruch des Bürgerkrieges am 25. Juni werden zwei junge Brüder zwangsrekrutiert in die südkoreanische Armee. Im Zivilleben waren Jin-tae und Jin-seok ein Herz und eine Seele, unter dem grauenvollen Eindruck des tödlichen Terrors und entsetzlichen Leids auf den Schlachtfeldern kommt es zum Bruch zwischen den Brüdern. Zunächst ist der 18jährige, sensible Jin-seok nur genervt von den tollkühnen Kampfaktionen des älteren, draufgängerischen Jin-tae, der alles tut, um das Leben seines innig geliebten Bruders zu schützen. Die zwischenmenschliche Entfremdung wächst, als Kriegskameraden bei Jin-taes Himmelfahrtskommandos ums Leben kommen. Und als Jin-tae, von der Barbarei des Krieges verroht, hilflose nordkoreanische Kriegsgefangene quält und massakriert, empfinded Jin-seok nicht nur Verachtung, sondern regelrechten Hass für seinen Bruder.
