Description

Handlung von Godless
In Godless hat die Krankenschwester Gana (Irena Ivanova) eine weitere Einnahmequelle gefunden: Sie verkauft die Ausweise und damit die Identitäten ihrer demenzkranken Patienten auf dem Schwarzmarkt. Die Gier nach dem schnellen Geld treibt sie dabei fast ebenso sehr an wie ihre Morphium-Abhängigkeit. Weder das Verhältnis zu ihrer arbeitslosen Mutter noch zu ihrem langjährigen Freund ist ein gutes. Doch die emotionale Leere und die Angst vor einer Strafe für ihre Taten wächst. Erst ein neu eingelieferter Patient, Yoan (Ivan Nalbantov), könnte sie möglicherweise wieder aus ihrer Lethargie wachrütteln. Doch um ihn zu retten, müsste Gana einen hohen Preis bezahlen.

Godless lief im August 2016 im Wettbewerb des 69. Filmfestival von Locarno. Dort gewann die bulgarisch-dänisch-französische Co-Produktion den Hauptpreis als bester Film: den Goldenen Leoparden. Die bulgarische Regisseurin Ralitza Petrova feierte mit Godless (OT: Bezbog) ihr Langspielfilm-Regiedebüt. (ES)
