Die Geschichte setzt im Jahr 1876 ein und ist in den Indianergebieten der Black Hills von South Dakota angesiedelt. Zwei Wochen sind seit General Custers finaler Schlacht vergangen und im (Wilden) Westen wird zwischen Mord und Totschlag der erste Grundstein Richtung Zivilisation gelegt.
